The Spirituality Behind the Chaos

More Than a Space Opera

Genesis of Darkness wears many masks. On the surface, it is a space opera. Beneath that, a dark fantasy. But at its core, it is a spiritual text disguised as fiction.

The seven chakras are not merely a colour-coding system for characters. Each chakra represents a stage of spiritual development, and each character’s journey mirrors the awakening — or corruption — of their associated energy centre.

The Bhagavad Gita in Space

The ship is called The Bhagavad. This is not coincidence.

The Bhagavad Gita is a conversation between a warrior and a divine being on the eve of battle. Genesis of Darkness is, at its heart, the same conversation — played out across six worlds and a void between them.

Xanqunnes is the warrior who questions everything. IIION is the divine consciousness who answers in riddles. Their dynamic drives the philosophical engine of the entire series.

The Master and The Student

The preludes — set 210,000 years before the main narrative — are direct philosophical dialogues. They explore:

  • Karma: the law of cause and effect across lifetimes
  • Reincarnation: the soul’s journey through multiple existences
  • Liberation: the ultimate goal of spiritual evolution
  • The nature of consciousness: what are we, truly?

These are not digressions. They are the foundation upon which every plot twist, every character arc, and every battle is built.

Writing Meditation

I wrote many of these passages during or immediately after meditation. The voice of the Master came most clearly in those liminal moments between stillness and thought.

If that sounds mystical — good. Some truths resist rational explanation. That’s rather the point.
